Care aid / Caregiver / Home support worker for elderly couple urgently needed

Part-time (possibly full time...) caregiver / care aid / home support worker required for elderly couple in their home in Penticton. Hours of work can be discussed for mutual agreement, however, a minimum of 2 (preferably 3) overnight shifts will be required per week. A small, but private, bedroom with cable TV is provided, and a morning meal will be included following the overnight shifts. During the overnight shifts, the caregiver does not need to stay awake the entire time, but he/she must be able to hear disturbances (movement, coughing, etc), or direct requests for help through a baby monitor and respond to various needs through the night as they may arise, which may include incontinence pad changing, assist with repositioning, responding to thirst, or simply provide comfort and reassurance to help resettle client to return to sleep. In addition, some experience with the general duties related to eldercare is required (such as managing incontinence pads, toileting, sponge bathing, managing bouts of confusion and/or memory loss, and medication administration, etc.) An understanding of mechanical lifts or transfer devices would be an advantage. There may be an occasional need for light meal / snack preparation and light clean up duties, or to assist the clients with such tasks.
