JOB POSTING POSITION: Cashier LOCATION: Penticton Pro Builders Supply Ltd. operate Home Hardware Building Centres and supports the full range of consumer and contractor home improvement needs in the Kelowna, Penticton, Osoyoos and Canmore markets. Pro Builders Supply Ltd. Is looking for an upbeat, team oriented and self-motivated Cashier for our Penticton location. The cashier processes all point-of-sale merchandise transactions using our retail software, balances & reconciles records of sales with cash and credit information as well as providing prompt, friendly customer service. Position Responsibilities: • Keep accurate record of all cash, in-house charge, and credit card transactions (debit, gift card, Areo-plan cards etc.) • Greet and verbally communicate with customers, management, and staff both in person and by telephone and paging system. • Operate all point of sale equipment, including cash register and computer terminal with sufficient speed and accuracy. • Verify signatures on the back of credit cards and expiry dates. • Follow proper procedures according to store policy regarding returns and refunds. • Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience. • Answer phone in prompt fashion and take messages, according to store policy. • Call for assistance when special orders come in. • Assist those customers who need advice, information, or directions. • Resolve customer complaints or refer to Customer service desk or Retail Operations Manager. • Maintain price information (flyers, in-store promotions etc.) for references when customer price inquires arise and confirm price for them. • Keep knowledgeable re: items in stock, yard inventory, including product use and operation. • Watch for shop lifting and take pre-cautions, action, and refer to Supervisor according to store policy. • Maintain and clean check-out area and face merchandise & near-by displays. • Tabulate sales at the end of the day and/or end of your shift and remove cash from register in accordance with store policy.
